Join us and get involved in shaping the future of the industry! - THE 3RD LEAN ACADEMY BEGINS

After the exceptional results and synergy of the first two generations of the Lean Academy, it is our honor and pleasure to inform you about the holding of the third generation of the Lean Academy.

The news comes from Culmena, a company that has been operating in the field of innovation, development, and consulting for 18 years. The areas of work they are focused on and in which they achieve significant results for clients are:

• LEAN Management,

• SMART FACTORIES and digital transformation

• LEADERSHIP and communications and

• GREEN technologies.

One of the projects is the LEAN Academy.

What is LEAN?

Although the term Lean is most often associated with production and manufacturing processes, this Japanese methodology is also successfully applied in service companies.

It is applicable in all business processes of the company, as well as in the relationship with suppliers. Excellent application results are also visible in financial institutions, the metal processing and electrical industry, the pharmaceutical industry, the food industry, education, healthcare, tourism, public administration, construction, and service industries.

Companies can have up to 85% of activities that represent pure loss and consume valuable resources. When expressed in money, it becomes clear that something must be done to reduce or neutralize these activities. Lean has clearly defined types of losses that lead to this kind of situation and tools to eliminate these losses.

At the core of Lean methodology are processes and the achievement of excellence.

What does the LEAN Academy look like?

How was it in previous years, we asked Mr. Nedeljko Štefanić, a professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding and one of the members of the Culmena board.

"The participants of the first two generations achieved significant improvements in production and overall business through pilot projects in their companies, and achieved top results through pilot projects during the academy, where some savings amounted to HRK 1 million annually," explains Mr. Štefanić.

Companies that have attended so far are Končar D&ST, Gumiimpex, C-A-D, Kofein, Bauwerk group, Spin Valis, NOKIA, Harburg-Freudenberger Belišće d.o.o. and Končar – Električna vozila d.d.

"So far, through the Lean Academy project, we have trained 18 Lean managers, completed 8 Lean projects, increased assembly capacity by over 20%, managed to reduce lead time by 20% in production and over 60% in sales, freed up over 140 m2 of space using 5S tools, and made many other improvements," he adds.

Some of the benefits of attending the Lean Academy are the possibility of obtaining a Lean Manager certificate, the possibility of establishing a Lean production system in your company, the implementation of organization and Lean planning, it provides the opportunity of networking with future colleagues and potential employers, and as an additional module, we presented Lean Leadership module and presentation skills.
